About

Early in the Summer of 2000 my best friend and I were golfing and reminiscing about our pasts as battery-mates on the baseball field.  We met early on during high school try-outs and continued our association on the mound and behind the plate through college.  Baseball was a metaphor for life and the diamond was both church and classroom for us its students.

On the mound

So when my friend, the catcher, told me that day as we golfed that if he were to ever write a memoir it would be entitled ‘Catching On’ it rang very true to me.  After thinking for a moment about how appropriate the title was for him, my own title came to my mind – ‘Pitching In.’  The connection we made on the titles were continued proof of the way our brains meshed together in the trenches battling through the 27 needed outs in a game.  Obviously there is more to the story and the reason for each of us to choose these titles but sufficeth to say I thought it would be appropriate for the project I have in mind for this website.  I look forward to your input.  Please contact me at pitchinginandcatchingon (at) gmail.com
